Slave in the west
(To make this clear I had to write a letter to the president as a slave explaining why slavery shouldn't exist in the west.) Dear Zachary Taylor, As of the recent expansion into the west, there are a few issues at hand. My name is Tesha, and I am a slave. The expansion into California raises the question, What should we do with slaves? As one I can say we should not continue this policy into the new lands. To start out, more free people would create more business to profit the economy. More free people would make the rest of the country and world understand that black people are people too. Perhaps this would also make the slave states to realize that this is inhumane and disgusting. Have a beautiful day Mr. President.
