The civil rights movement was one of the most important moments in recent American history. As the time period lasted for a few decades, I have compiled a list of the most important dates. May 17th, 1954. This was the day Brown sued the board of education in order to repeal all segregated schools December 1st, 1955. On this day, Rosa parks started the Montgomery bus protest after being arrested for sitting in the front of a bus. September 27th, 1957. President Eisenhower sent in the 101st Airborne decided, comprised of WW2 veterans, to guard children on their way to school. February 1st, 1960. 4 college students begin a sit-down lunch protest in North Carolina April 3rd, 1963. Birmingham protests begin August 28th, 1963.
